Father's Day BBQ Guide — The Best Cuts to Treat Dad This Spring
Father's Day is the perfect excuse to fire up the grill and give dad the BBQ he deserves. Not a supermarket tray of chops — a proper Argentine asado with premium cuts, real charcoal and everything done right.
At Achura Meat Market in Brookvale, we've got everything you need to make this Father's Day one to remember.
## The Best Cuts for a Father's Day Asado
**Bife de chorizo (sirloin)**
The classic Father's Day cut. Rich, thick and full of flavour — the kind of steak that makes someone feel genuinely spoiled. Season with coarse salt, cook on a very hot grill for 4-5 minutes each side and rest before serving. Simple and perfect.
**Ojo de bife (ribeye)**
If you really want to impress, go with ojo de bife. The most marbled, most indulgent cut in our range — the kind of steak you save for a special occasion. Father's Day qualifies.
**Vacío (flank steak)**
If dad loves a proper asado experience, vacío is the cut. Low and slow for 60-80 minutes, fat cap up, until the outside is golden and the inside is juicy and tender. The result is always worth the wait.
**Entraña (skirt steak)**
Fast, flavourful and universally loved. If you want something quick that still delivers, entraña is your answer. 3-4 minutes each side on a very hot grill and it's done.
**Chorizos to start**
No asado is complete without chorizos on the grill. Get them on first while the main cuts are cooking and serve them in crusty rolls with chimichurri — the ultimate choripán while dad waits for the main event.
## How to Plan the Perfect Father's Day Asado
**Morning:** Pick up your cuts from Achura in Brookvale. Tell us how many people you're feeding and we'll help you work out exactly what you need.
**Early afternoon:** Light the charcoal at least 45 minutes before you want to start cooking. You need white-hot coals, not flames.
**1 hour before eating:** Slow cuts go on — vacío or asado de tira.
**30 minutes before eating:** Chorizos on the grill.
**15 minutes before eating:** Entraña or bife de chorizo — fast cuts that should be served hot off the grill.
**Result:** One very happy dad.
